The Deanship of Students Affair organized the closing ceremony of the Hult Prize, the largest accelerator in the world for profit start-up companies with social influence, in collaboration with Technology Transfer Office at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan.
Fifteen teams participated in the competition from different faculties; they presented their entrepreneurial projects before the arbitration committee, comprised of Jordanian entrepreneurs, Co-founder and CEO of MODE Company Zayna Al-Hamarneh, Co-founder of Habaybna.net, Mohammed Alafranji, Projects Manager and, CEO of Wamada Platform, Rawan Al- khawaldeh and Founder and, CEO of I Learn initiative, Saddam Sayyaleh.
Team “Rise It” from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology came in first place, the team included the following students: Shahd Al-Khteib, Nour Al-Saghbini and Batool Ghunaim.
On the other hand, Team “Blossom” from the Faculty of Pharmacy came in second place; the team included the following students: Farrah Sawalha, Hiba Abu Shanab, Dina Abu Hashem and Yasmeen Al- Kilani.
Team “Future” from the faculty of Pharmacy came in third place, the team included the following students: Mohammed Al-Zaidi, Ahmed Naser and Saleh Rabaa.
In the next phase the three teams will compete locally to win 150 thousand dollars and internationally for 1 million dollars.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Director of Foreign Relationships Office, Professor Ali Al-Dahoud and Deputy Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Hani Al-Mimi.
