Research and Enterprise Office which is later rename to Technology Transfer Office (TTO) was unofficially founded in December 2014 as one of the major outcomes of an Tempus project call Towards a university Enterprise alliance in Jordan (TEJ). It was funded by TEJ project in addition to the contribution of the hosted university. TEJ tends to build relations between universities and their socio-economic environment. REO mission is to provide advice and support to the Enterprise community. REO should able to help, find, secure and manage research funding, and commercialize your work. REO also coordinates research planning and manages REF submissions.
The office supports the researcher through the entire research lifecycle by helping him finding funding and turn a good idea into a research grant application. It also offer guidance on research ethics and intellectual property issues, and provide the legal expertise required to negotiate any contract relating to collaborative research. Once a grant application has been successful, the office will administer the researcher grant on his behalf and provide knowledge exchange support to ensure his research output is disseminated as widely as possible.
Jordanian universities are currently only starting to create strategies and instruments in the domain of building relations between universities and their socio-economic environment by establishing Research and Enterprise Offices (REOs). TEJ project is aimed to contribute and stimulate the economic growth in Jordan by building strong and sustainable partnerships between universities and businesses, promoting good practice for implementing university enterprises link offices in 9 Jordanian universities and enhancing human skills.
