Under the patronage of the General Secretary of the Ministry of Culture H.E. Mr. Jarees Samawi, the Department of the cultural activities/ Deanship of the student Affairs of Al Zaytoonah University of Jordan, with the cooperation of the Jordanian Cultural Youth Forum organized a symposium entitled (Boosting the Role of Youth in the National Unity) at the main theatre of the University at 11.30 am. On Wednesday 6th April 2011. Mr. Samawi discussed the importance of Youth in boosting the national unity. As had been called by His majesty the King (God Bless Him) Knights of Change, believing in the importance of His Majesty’s concentration on youth in all his speeches, meetings, and authorization notes to the cabinets and the importance on taking care of them and their education to create a conscious and interesting generation. He added “You are the hope of the nation and its expectancy; hopes are depended on you to be future leaders and holders of the country’s flag in various fields.” You have your great role since being students of nowadays in enhancing our national unity, and rejecting all means of disunity. Prof. Dr. Rushdi Hasan/ President of the University delivered a speech welcoming the audience and presented his gratitude to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture to meet the invitation. He also thanked the forum’s youth, and the cultural activities department for the preparations and organization of the very significant symposium under these circumstances. Dr. Mohamed Al Shar`ah/ Dean of Student Affairs participated in a paper entitled: “The role of political discourse in laying national unity basis”. Dr. Hamdi Murad/ Lecturer at the University of Islamic Sciences participated in a paper entitled: “The role of the religious discourse in laying national unity basis”. In addition to Dr. Riyadh Hamuda/ Lecturer at Al Isra` University who also submitted a paper on: “The role of social discourse in laying national unity basis”. The symposium was attended by the Deans, managers of the administrative bodies, great number of academic and administrative cadres, besides university students. The audience exchanged with the participants view points. At the end of the symposium, The President of the university presented the University shields of honor to the patron of symposium and the participant guests. Applauses raised calling for long life for His Royal Highness the King and the national unity as well.
